Between them these six girls have captured the eyes of the world more than any celebrities their age. Even so, you would almost never find them mentioned in the same breath, unless a sharp contrast is being made. Keira Knightley and Lindsay Lohan, for example, are both internationally recognised actresses - just for vastly different reasons!
"I'll be good... I swear!"
The "It" girls (Keira, Scarlett and Anne) are the "artists" in Hollywood in their twenties who have managed to capture the hearts of the masses with their dazzling work on screen. But what separates them from their "Brat Pack" counterparts is the absence of scandal.

Basically these lovely ladies work hard to maintain the image and reap the benefits as a result. It is hard work. It's also damned expensive. But hey, who wouldn't go to the extra effort to look like they do? And an Oscar is also a nice perk on the side!

Let's start with the train-wreck du jour, Britney Spears. Frankly there hasn't been a case of singer going so far off the rails since Judy Garland last hit the sauce and decided she needed a new husband! Very unflattering pictures! Hideous instances of what can only be called public emotional breakdowns, deliberately seeking out the papparazzi just to make sure you're still wanted! It's truly vile!

Of course Paris claims she has ("Praise Jesus!") made a great turn around and is on the way on a bright new path... ppffffffffttttt!! This one's a keeper. She addicted to her own headlines and her own image. One day she will no doubt end up living in a broken down mansion on Sunset Boulevard with Nicole Richie, dreaming of a comeback and ensnaring hot young guys in her scarred clutches...
But what's wrong with these girls? Basically they made it big too quickly and it just became impossible to keep their feet on the ground. When the entire world seems to revolve around you why bother stopping it? Even if it is spinning towards disaster, it still seems like a mighty cosy ride on the way there!
All of them you will note, once were considered legitimate artists - well, okay, not Paris, though she did try bless her with those lame movies and that hideous album! - and they have simply since fallen on hard times. Or rather they have fallen in with the wrong crowd and not had the brains or the will-power to draw themselves out of it!

And Paris... too much money and not enough education (class!!!).
So there you have it, the most beautiful/oversexed, celebrated/infamous girls in the world in all their glory/gory. But still, aside from their youth and vitality, these girls are worth looking at for more than just the obvious reasons.
Though everyone understands that history repeats itself, we seldom bother to take note of it so that we can understand what's going to happen, how and maybe even try to stop it. But take note of these six girls, because by 2020 one of them will be dead - immortal in fact. Every generation of Hollywood's starlets has one.
Natalie Wood, Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlowe, Lupe Velez - the girls who expired after spending their twenties being over-exposed to the spotlight. Anyone care to place a bet who's next? I mean this is Hollywood after all! There's a betting shop on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams!
