Star on the rise: Kristen Bell
April 18th 2008 01:55
It was the TV show Veronica Mars that first put Kristen Bell on the map, and now she's starring as the title character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. But it's her pretty, down-to-earth looks and realistic attitude that will take her all the way to superstardom. "I'm not in the business of becoming famous," says Bell. "And that's the advice I give to younger aspiring actors. Work onstage and do the little roles. In the end it's not important to be seen. It's important to do. There's a lot of disappointment in this business, but my family keeps me grounded."
Kristen has appeared both on and off Broadway, and first hit our TV screens in 2004 as the star of the popular TV show Veronica Mars. Since then she's done 8 movies and has appeared as a guest in several TV shows, including a recurring role as a con artist on Deadwood. She's currently the narrator of the hit TV show Gossip Girl, and joined the cast of Heroes in 2007 as Elle, a mysterious woman with ties to Peter and Claire.
Regardless of how famous she gets, Kristen has vowed never to become associated with the likes of Paris, Britney and Lindsay - she wants to be known for her acting ability, not her crazy antics. "I'm not a risk taker," she says. "I don't do plunging necklines or really short skirts. I try to stay as classy as possible and provide a little mystery."
After the success of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Kristen will next hit the big screen with upcoming movies Fanboys, Antique and Serious Moonlight.
