Sea Patrol - a review in retrospect
July 12th 2007 11:54
Given that I gave Sea Patrol a small plug a few weeks back, before it's debut on Australian TV this evening, I thought i should do a brief follow up review on this new "hot" Aussie drama...
Well frankly I hope it improves as it goes on. The script stank and the plot was... well kinda stupid. Drug smugglers who arrange a courier to collect their stash before blowing them up? Surely they can do better than that!
One wonders whether the script-writers even bothered to have any Naval advisors. Obviously faux bluff-seamans-talk rubs shoulders with rubbishy sentiment. All in all the series pilot was not clever, thought provoking, or even all that addictive. Admitedly the Thursday night line-up is pretty paultry these days but the drive to tune in next week is almost non-existent.
Let's hope it improves! Otherwise Foxtel is starting to sound pretty good right about now!
