Scientology Strikes Again!

June 5th 2007 04:32
A recent article in the New York Post brought to light a highly disturbing new aspect of cult/religion Scientology. Admittedly so far all aspects of this religion to be openly revealed have proven disturbing but this one especially so. In fact the only way to describe it is downright primative and a disgrace considering the medical achievements of man since... well since we left the caves!
Jett Travolta
Jett Travolta and mother Kelly Preston at Hawaii just recently (thanks again to PerezHilton.com for the image)

Recently son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, Jett, was photographed on holiday with his two famous parents in Hawaii. Now Jett is seldom seen out and about even though he turned 15 just last month. Celebrity children are not to be trifled with for sure. There's nothing more likely to rile up a blood bath than the papparazzi trespassing on the stars and their "Family" time.
Jett, it would seem, is kept out of the spotlight for more reasons than just a wish to give him a normal life in spite of his father's film star status. Jett is autistic. Nothing wrong with that. Anyone who has ever dealt with Autistic people will tell you that they are absolutely lovely and giving.
No, the conflict here is a result of the fact that Travolta and wife Preston refuse to accept that Jett is actually autistic. Travolta has spoken of Jett in interviews as an avid reader and a good sportsman when apparantly he can do neither. The Travolta's are apparantly in a serious case of denial about their son. Why? Scientology!

Apparantly the Church of Scientology believes that disabled people are quote unquote degraded! Autistic people for example have no actual mental illness. They simply need to work harder on the church's teachings!
The Church of Scientology
Scientology is almost constantly under fire these days... Hmm, I wonder why?

The Travolta's legal people shot back a brief message in response to the NY Post article with the usual Scientology "watch it or we'll sue" message enclosed stating that the Travolta's are excellent parents whose first priority is their children, of who they take excellent care.
No doubt. Pictures of Jett show he looks in perfect physical health.
It was a neat message designed to make people wary of covering the topic of Jett's autism by carefully shifting the focus from the Scientological beliefs to accusations of neglect.
What the Travolta's seem to be missing here is that the simple "idea" - not even thinking of the practice of it - that a person with a mental illness should go uncared for because they are degraded is in itself just sick sick SICK!
Hairspray the Movie Musical
Travolta in a fat suit and drag - will his upcoming movie Hairspray be affected by this latest contraversy?

How intelligent and respectable people can believe such a thing is beyond the realms of imagination.
I am sure the Travolta's are excellent parents. I can understand why they may not want a media circus surrounding their child's mental condition. He is their flesh and blood after all. What's wrong with wanting him to live a life of peace?
BUT... being in open denial about his mental condition due to a religious notion that almost belongs insde a Nazi regime manifesto is just wrong. Truth and fair comment. Sue me if you like!
WRONG!!!

According some reports the main ST ranch started stock piling weapons after the David Koresh incident

You are not talking about a religion here.
It is business.
