Robert Pattinson can't get a girlfriend
August 20th 2009 11:03
He may be one of the hottest names in Hollywood right now, but even that doesn't stop someone from being lonely. While the trash talk media would have you believe that he's hooked up with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, the fact is that Robert Pattinson is terminally single - and he can't understand why.
"I don't have a girlfriend. I don't know why. You always think you're going to get more girls after you've made a movie and it never happens," the 23-year-old heartthrob told journalists. "You sit there and you're like, 'I'm a big movie star and I want to go out with some models'. But I don't know why that doesn't happen."
Perhaps the fact that he's unable to go out in public without being swarmed by screaming teenage girls has something to do with it. "People ambush me and try and find out what hotel I'm staying at, as well as wanting to touch my hair. Everyone just screams and screams. It feels surreal," Pattinson said recently. "Most of the girls are all pretty young so it's just kind of funny."
The star, who earlier this month received the title of Sexiest Man in the World by British Glamour magazine, is unfazed by his status as a sex symbol, and is less than thrilled with the downsides of Hollywood fame. "If you try and chat people up, everyone's like, 'Oh, you're just an actor. You probably go around sleeping with everybody'," he said.
"So fame has the opposite effect of what you'd expect."
Pattinson will be reprising his role of vampire Edward Cullen in New Moon, the second film based on Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular Twilight book series, due to hit cinemas in November.

I think he'd be a great catch, but only when his fame dies down a little, it would just be too irritating to deal with if you value a normal life. I suspect that's where his girlfriend dilemma lies... it'll be interesting to see who he ends up with anyway.
