Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen call off their engagement

They'd been engaged to be married for more than eighteen months, but now Hollywood stars Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have decided to call it a day. Reports surfaced a few weeks ago that the relationship was going through a rough patch, and today they were confirmed: "Yes, the engagement is off," Bilson's rep told journalists.
Bilson's rep refused to go into details, but a friend of Rachel's apparently told People magazine that the split was simply due to work getting in the way.
With Bilson based in Los Angeles, and Christensen spending most of his time in Canada, their relationship "just wasn't working out," said Bilson's pal. The 28-year-old actress is now "focusing on her career, spending time with her family and just moving forward," her friend told the magazine.
The two met in 2007 when they co-starred in the movie Jumper, and got engaged in December the following year. Both have a handful of successful films under their belts, with Bilson also being a paparazzi favourite due to her taste in clothing being held in high regard.
