And the most overpaid actor in Hollywood is...

... Will Ferrell, according to a new list published at business analysis site forbes.com. The Old School and Talladega Nights star commands a high salary for his work, even though he is almost always typecast in the "man-child" role... no, make that always! Ferrell beat several other big names for the dubious honour, including Tom Cruise, Eddie Murphy and Leonardo DiCaprio.
For every dollar Ferrell is paid, his films earn an average of US$3.29. Doesn't seem terrible at first, until you compare him to the likes of Shia LaBeouf, who currently makes movie bosses an average of US$160 for every dollar he's paid.
A surprising addition to the list was Scottish star Ewan McGregor, as the second most overpaid actor in Hollywood. While he has had a number of hit films throughout his career (most notably, 1996's Trainspotting and the of-course-they-will-be-huge Star Wars films), his most recent movies have performed poorly at the box office. This has made him a bad investment for producers, despite the fact that he doesn't command nearly as high a salary as some of the other actors on the list.
