One to see: Factory Girl (2006)

Revolving around the life of 60’s icon Edie Sedgwick, Factory Girl is a poignant and fascinating portrayal of life in the artistic parts of New York. Sedgwick, played by Sienna Miller, becomes Andy Warhol’s muse and subsequently becomes deeply involved in a world of drugs, art and fame. The story follows Sedgwick’s decline into the seedy side of life as a socialite.
The film itself is creatively shot, and there’s never an un-artistic moment on screen throughout the entire movie. In particular, the scenes involving Warhol himself have an almost ethereal look about them, particularly as Warhol films his muse in his studio (referred to as the factory, hence the title). Our own Guy Pearce puts in an amazing performance as Warhol himself.
This is a film that will never bore its audience, and the story involves a love interest as well – a folk singer played by Hayden Christensen. He and Miller have an excellent on-screen chemistry and are truly captivating as a couple. Mena Suvari also puts in an excellent performance as one of Sedgwick’s party animal friends.
Factory Girl is definitely one to see if you’re after a bio pic that is a little on the dark side. Some scenes are full of black humour, while others are quite moving and will stay with you long after the film has finished.

I really wanted to like this one because I have a deep fascination with the Andy Warhol universe and Edie.
Unfortunately it felt flat and never really offered any insight or emotional involvement, nicely shot though....but how can you compete with Crispin Glover as Warhol?
