No Playboy for Lohan... for now.

Despite a multitude of reports breathlessly declaring Lindsay Lohan the next Playboy bunny, the Hollywood star is yet to sign a deal with the men's magazine, so will not be appearing nude in the mag in the immediate future. Still, with the iconic publication reportedly offering her US$900,000 to pose for their readers - after she declined their offer of US$500,000 last year - this blogger suspects that it's only a matter of time before she gives in and bares all.
Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. Lohan has posed nude before, in a provocative 2008 recreation of Marilyn Monroe's famous last photo shoot for New York magazine. She's frequently snapped by the paparazzi falling out of her clothes, and even posted a topless photograph of herself on Twitter (though admittedly, her hair was covering her assets). However, I suppose it's the image of Playboy that has her digging in her heels. Once you've done Playboy, there's no going back: your nudity is a part of pop cultural history.
Given Lohan's affinity with Marilyn Monroe, I'm guessing that the 23-year-old actress will eventually follow in her footsteps and appear on both the cover and within Hugh Hefner's most famous publication, but only when both the time and the price is right. For now, her representative remains obstinate that there will be no Playboy for her young client. "If there's nudity, the answer is no. She's not going down that road again."
