Lindsay Lohan's Marilyn obsession is getting old

So Lindsay Lohan has finally posed for Playboy. No surprises there. What does come as a surprise, however, is that the long-established men's publication agreed to let her pose as her idol Marilyn Monroe, even though she's already been photographed that way many times before - both with her clothes on (for Spanish Vogue in 2009) and with her clothes noticably absent (for New York magazine, back in 2008). Was there really no other way they could get her to do it?
What's more, the cover photo has already been leaked onto the internet (here it is, for anyone who's desperate to see it) which comes as another blow for the magazine, after they reportedly paid Lohan a staggering $1 million for the photoshoot.
Come on, Playboy. Does the world really need more naked pictures of Lindsay Lohan pretending to be Marilyn Monroe?
Sure, I can see the physical resemblance between the two, but Lindsay hasn't even played her idol in a movie (hell, she couldn't even manage to play Linda Lovelace!) so you have to wonder what's going on there. Why are the creatives at Playboy so keen to trash the image of the legendary Ms Monroe, who just so happened to appear on the very first cover of their magazine nearly sixty years ago?
Despite all this, the Lindsay-covered issue will probably sell extremely well, because right now she is the epitome of everything that the trash media loves... she's a once-impressive talent who has fallen into the abyss of drugs, decadence and despair. And yes, Marilyn may have done all that too, but I'll be damned if she didn't do it with more class.
