Lindsay Lohan jailed
July 7th 2010 05:01
Troubled Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, for violating the terms of her probation that resulted from her 2007 drug case. The 24-year-old broke down in tears as the judge handed over the sentence, which also included another three months in rehab once she's done her time in jail.
As the sentence was handed down, a sobbing Lohan pleaded with Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel for understanding, claiming that she wasn't aware that by missing her weekly alcohol education classes, she was violating the terms of her probation.
"I did everything I was told to do, I thought I was being compliant," she cried. "I'm not taking this as a joke, it's my life and career. I don't want you to think I don't respect you and your terms."
The judge was clearly unconvinced, replying, "I couldn't have been more clear [about my orders]. There are no excuses."
Lohan was ordered to surrender to the court on July 20th to begin her 90-day sentence, which is expected to be served at the women's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California - the same jail where she previously served just 84 minutes of a 24-hour sentence in November 2007.

I'm really hoping she can make a comeback after this because I think she's a very talented actress. Thankfully there's still a handful of people in Hollywood who are willing to keep working with her.

When she said that she felt that she was "in compliance" with the court, she was referring to the times when she went to her scheduled sessions twice or even three times a week.
She admitted that she knew she was scheduled to go "once a week" but because of her work schedule, she was under the impression that she could make up for the sessions she missed by doubling them up. It seems as if she was allowed to do this once and she simply figured that it would always be okay.
The reason that the judge did not buy her excuse is because of her history of lying and not taking responsibility for her actions. The judge read from her police report the occasions when she was busted for reckless driving, DUI, and drug possession and blaming her actions on other people, only to be caught in a lie.
