Kristen Stewart to appear nude?

I was skeptical myself, but it seems the rumours are true: Twilight actress Kristen Stewart is stripping down for an upcoming movie role. The 19-year-old is starring alongside James Gandolfini in the new independent film Welcome to the Rileys, where she plays a lap dancer and prostitute with a penchant for walking around naked. The gritty role is light years away from her usual repertoire and will undoubtedly alter the public's opinion of the young star.
"It was just the hardest subject matter I've ever had to deal with," Stewart told journalists. "I play a very broken young girl who is a runaway. She’s a street kid. She’s working in a strip club and James Gandolfini’s character is just as dead inside as she is - and they wake each other up."
While she was initially nervous about filming the nude scenes (sources say that she asked her Twilight co-star Nikki Reed to join her on the New Orleans set, to be her support system), she was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Gandolfini. “Working with James... was the most fruitful, life-changing experience on a movie that I've ever had.”
Stewart seemed flippant about her decision to bare all for the camera, and was quoted as saying "It's an independent movie that nobody would normally see and now it’s like, 'Oh, let’s go see Bella in this stripper movie; it’ll be crazy!'”
While I personally have no problem with nude scenes in films, I hope that Stewart doesn't regret this decision. She may be a Hollywood veteran but she's still in her teens, and the parents of her younger Twilight fan base may not be impressed!
Welcome to the Rileys was written by Ken Hixon and directed by Jake Scott, and is expected to be released in 2010.
