Kristen Stewart bites back!

It seems that all the speculation about Kristen Stewart's love life has finally made her snap! When the Twilight ingenue was asked at a New Moon press conference whether the chemistry she and co-star Robert Pattinson share on-camera existed in real life as well, she threw back at him a simple but effective "Are you kidding me?"
Although speculation about one's personal life is part and parcel of being a celebrity these days, it's understandable that the young actress would be upset. First of all, she's only 19 years old; secondly, it's an insult to the pair's acting abilities; and thirdly, this line of questioning is one that has been following her ever since she became better known for being Bella Swan than for being herself. Some trashy magazines have taken the 'Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are an item' concept so far as to declare Stewart pregnant with Pattinson's baby!
And it doesn't help when your co-stars inadvertently make the situation worse. "The chemistry is incredible," gushed fellow Twilight-er Ashley Greene, when asked about the pair's on-set antics. Nice one, Alice...
Of course, there's every possibility that Stewart and Pattinson will get together in real life. Look at Brad and Angelina, who fell in love while filming Mr and Mrs Smith, or Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, whose passion for one another left the pages of The Notebook far behind... off-screen hookups really do happen all the time, like in so many 'normal' workplaces. But somehow, I get the feeling that Stewart and Pattinson will be keeping their apparently "palpable attraction" for one another to the silver screen only. I could be wrong, of course - we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, here's hoping that the media will back off on the 'are you two together?' line of questioning, because Kristen's not the only one who is well and truly sick of it.
New Moon, the hugely anticipated adaptation of the second book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, is set to hit cinemas in November. The film's major stars have recently been filming separate projects - Stewart portraying rocker Joan Jett in The Runaways, and Pattinson shooting the indie drama Remember Me - but will reunite in August to begin filming the third Twilight movie, Eclipse.
