Jennifer Hudson's Nightmare Ordeal: Update
October 28th 2008 03:08
Two days after the Oscar winner's mother and brother were fatally shot in Chicago, Jennifer Hudson has offered US$100,000 for the safe return of her young nephew, who has been missing since Friday. The FBI are reportedly involved in the search for 7-year-old Julian King, but when asked whether they had any promising leads, the Chicago spokesman declined comment.
Hudson has spoken of her gratitude towards everyone who has been helping her get through this traumatic time, writing on her website "Thankyou all for your prayers. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back safely."
As for the murders of Jason Hudson, 29, and Darnell Donerson, 57, a suspect has been arrested but no charges have been filed.
UPDATE: Tragically, Julian King has been found dead, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The 7-year-old's body was discovered in the rear seat of an SUV in Chicago.
The police have no definite leads on the assailants yet, but are optimistic in finding the killers. "We've got two crime scenes," said Supt. Weis of the Chicago police. "Oftentimes there's lots of evidence left at a crime scene so I'm very confident that our forensic technicians will go through both areas with a fine-toothed comb, and I suspect there will be some evidence that will link us to the killer."
Fox Studios has extended its deepest condolences to Hudson and her family after the tragic events of the past few days, saying "Our thoughts are with them in this time of profound sadness."
