Jennifer Aniston: Not a 'Lonely Girl'
September 11th 2009 01:21
She's had her share of failed relationships and has been dubbed "unlucky in love", but Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston insists that she's not lonely. Unfortunately, the trash-talk media likes to claim otherwise, and even the slightly more credible publications like Elle magazine are guilty of misquoting her. A recent interview with Aniston was given the headline of 'Lonely Girl' - a title that the actress claims is unfair and untrue.
"It's just their headline of 'Lonely Girl' that's sort of bulls--t," Aniston said. "I agreed to do it because how many times have I done an interview - every time - and you're misquoted and stupid sound bites get taken out of context and all of that… still happened with this. It's unavoidable."
Worst of all is the fact that the person interviewing the star happened to be one of her closest friends and producing partners. They would not have been responsible for the headline, but you would have thought that they might have had some objections to the editor's off-base accompaniment to their article.
40-year-old Aniston is the ex-wife of Hollywood legend Brad Pitt, and has had a string of relationships with high-profile stars like actor Vince Vaughn, and most recently, musician John Mayer. As the leading lady in countless romantic comedies, Aniston has noticed a strange parallel between the movies she's made, and her own life. During her divorce with Pitt in 2005, she was filming Derailed and The Break-up, and was dating Mayer while He's Just Not That Into You was in production. "So if any of you have a project that's titled 'Everlasting Love With An Adult Stable Male...'" she joked recently.
Her next film's called Love Happens, which is close enough! As for the ongoing misrepresentation of her emotional state in the tabloid media, Aniston claims that she's not overly concerned. "I'm not upset about it," she says. "I just find it funny."
