So it would seem! An astounding number of Hollywood actresses have given birth this year in what has undoubtedly been the biggest celebrity baby boom of the century (so far). Add to that the not-exactly-Hollywood but still big-time celebs Miranda Kerr, Pink, Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey, Kimberley Stewart, Jewel, Rachel Zoe, and Ivanka Trump, and you would be forgiven for thinking that these rich and famous women are all part of a secret government-funded baby-making conspiracy.
Here's a list of the Hollywood stars who became members of the new mothers club in 2011.
Penelope Cruz had her first child, a boy named Leo, in January
Christina Applegate had her first child, a girl named Sadie Grace, in January
Jane Krakowski had her first child, a boy named Bennett, in April
Marion Cotillard had her first child, a boy named Marcel, in May
Alicia Silverstone had her first child, a boy named Bear Blu, in May
Jennifer Connelly had her third child, a girl named Agnes Lark, in May
Natalie Portman had her first child, a boy named Aleph, in June
Maya Rudolph had her third child, a boy named Jackson, in July
Kate Hudson had her second son Bingham in July
