Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to divorce

After six years of being one of Hollywood's hottest couples, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have decided to call it quits on their marriage. The split follows months of infidelity rumours on Kutcher's part, and, while those rumours were never proven to be true, Moore said that her decision to leave her husband was based on "certain values and vows" that she considers to be sacred within a marriage.
"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," said Moore in a statement released yesterday.
"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."
The remarkably youthful-looking actress also requested that she and Ashton be left alone by the paparazzi, stating that "this is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."
Kutcher - who is more than 15 years younger than his soon-to-be ex-wife - said that marriage is a "difficult" undertaking, but that he will look back fondly on his relationship with Moore.
"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," he posted on his Chime.in account. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
