Christian Bale: 'I was out of order'
February 7th 2009 03:24
Christian Bale has apologised repeatedly for his recent profanity-ridden tirade, calling his behaviour "deeply embarassing." The audiotape of Bale letting loose at a crew member of Terminator: Salvation has made the rounds (listen to it here) with some listeners finding it so hilarious that they've made musical remixes of it! "It's been a miserable week for me," the 35-year-old actor said.
Turns out the reason for the thirty-six (yes, thirty-six) f-words was that the director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, had entered the actor's sight lines during filming. Bale admits that it was an overreaction."I made it ugly," he said. "I took it way too far."
"I was out of order, beyond belief," Bale told journalists. "I acted like a punk. I regret that ... It is inexcusable." Nonetheless, he hopes the public will understand that this was a one-time thing and that stress can have that effect on anyone. "I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, 'Have they ever had a bad day and ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely?'"
As for the ridicule he's received since the tape was revealed? "I deserve it completely."
