The shapely star of TV's Mad Men was recently named a "fabulous" physical role model for young girls, and - as tends to follow when a curvy actress hits the limelight - has been compared with 1950s screen siren Marilyn Monroe. But the 35-year-old Hendricks is quick to deflect such comparisons, telling Parade magazine that, although she loves hearing it, she "could never hold a candle" to the gorgeous Ms Monroe.

Robert Pattinson needs no introduction. At 24 years of age, he's become one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood. He has a legion of female fans who follow his every move. The tabloid media is constantly creating new stories about him (their favourite theme is his alleged 'secret relationship' with his equally paparazzi-harassed co-star Kristen Stewart), and he's made enough money pretending to be a vampire to never have to work again in his life. And yet, what our favourite undead leading man wants more than anything is for the whole Twilight chapter of his life to be over and done with, so he can begin a life much more ordinary than the one he's been living since being cast as Edward Cullen.

Voluptuous Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has received a Tony award for her work on Broadway. The 25-year-old won the Best Actress Tony for her starring debut in Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge, alongside fellow Hollywood veteran Liev Schreiber. "Being welcomed into this community has been a dream come true for me," said the young star breathlessly as she accepted the prestigious award last night. "Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be on Broadway, and here I am."

I'm yet to see a film in which Cate Blanchett is mediocre. And let's face it, there really aren't that many actors in Hollywood who you could say the same about! Despite this, the incredibly graceful Cate finds watching her own movies to be something of a painful experience, recently telling Parade magazine: "I find it excruciating to watch myself. It's sort of akin to watching your home videos, but doing it in public. There's always a moment where you feel like you've got your pants around your ankles."

Three years ago, most of us didn't even know who Kristen Stewart was. Now, the star of the Twilight saga is one of the most famous faces in Hollywood, and is hounded by paparazzi wherever she goes. Unfortunately for Stewart, she's never been a fame-whore and as such, has found the intrusions on her privacy most alarming: she recently labelled the actions of Hollywood photographers "insane" and "f-ing dangerous".

Isabel Lucas: 'I'm a bit of a kook'

April 23rd 2010 00:19
When I first wrote about the gorgeous Isabel Lucas in 2008, she was a fresh-faced 23-year-old who had only just begun to work her Aussie charm in Hollywood. Now 25, Miss Lucas has become hot property in the movie industry, with three films due out later this year and a significant fan base that gets bigger by the day. She's currently gracing our TV screens in the Spielberg-directed WWII miniseries The Pacific, and despite her success has remained as sweet and easygoing as she always was... even going so far as to describe herself as "a kook"!

Star on the rise: Liam Hemsworth

March 26th 2010 11:08
Yes, he's Miley's boyfriend, and yes, he's Chris's little brother, but that's not to say that Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth doesn't have what it takes to make it in Hollywood on his own! On the contrary, he's got plenty of work already lined up, including a part in the upcoming Arabian Nights, where he'll play a young commander who, after the murder of his king, enlists the help of Aladdin and Sinbad to rescue Queen Scheherazade. For now, though, the media's focus is on The Last Song, which sees Hemsworth playing opposite a certain young superstar who later became his girlfriend in real life.

You may not know the name, but chances are you've seen Amanda Seyfried's gorgeous face before. Having spent the last few years chalking up blockbusters on her movie portfolio (think Mean Girls, Mamma Mia! and Jennifer's Body), the 24-year-old blonde beauty is well on her way to major Hollywood stardom. Her latest film, Dear John, is a romantic drama that is sure to find its way into the hearts of teenage girls worldwide: it's based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks (who wrote The Notebook) and Amanda's starring alongside none other than Channing Tatum! She recently sat down with Parade magazine and shared some stories about love, and the hilarity of filming love scenes.

Claudia Karvan talks Daybreakers

January 9th 2010 14:30
Sick of vampire films yet? I hope not, because there's still one more that looks set to take audiences by storm: the long-awaited Daybreakers, which is due to hit Aussie cinemas on January 21st. It's not the kind of vampire flick we've become accustomed to, however. According to Claudia Karvan (who is just one of several Australian stars to be cast in this movie), Daybreakers is a "sophisticated genre-horror film" that subverts the typical vampire tale.

'Of course I had a crush on her'

January 1st 2010 05:07
Adding further fuel to an already out-of-control fire comes Robert Pattinson's latest confession: that the only reason he auditioned to be in the Twilight films was because of his attraction to Kristen Stewart. The little-known Pattinson had seen his future co-star in a movie and wanted to meet her, admitting to journalists that he knew next to nothing about the book series and auditioned simply for the chance to meet his crush.

Jude Law gets personal

December 28th 2009 22:23
"We all mess up," says actor Jude Law. "But we're equally capable of making it better." The star of Sherlock Holmes has certainly been through some messy times in 2009. The allegations that he assaulted a female photographer, the very brief relationship with a US model that resulted in him fathering a fourth child, and his rumoured reconciliation with former fiancee and equally messy Hollywood star Sienna Miller all conspired to throw the 36-year-old back into the media spotlight. Still, Law is remarkably philosophical about life's twists and turns: here's what he had to say.

The lovely Saoirse Ronan

December 16th 2009 04:47
Don't feel bad if you can't pronounce her name: "They call me names like 'Sari,' 'Shership,' and Sureese.' Really weird names that are nothing like my name!" says Saoirse Ronan. The 15-year-old Irish actress (whose name is pronounced Seer-Sha, in case you were wondering) is the star of the highly anticipated film The Lovely Bones, which is based on Alice Sebold's bestselling novel and is set to hit Aussie cinemas the day after Christmas. The young star recently had a chat with Parade magazine: these are the interview's highlights, but you can read the whole thing here.

She's got a degree from Harvard, speaks four languages and is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, and now Natalie Portman is ready to take on her next challenge: motherhood! Okay, so there's no babies in her immediate future, but the stunning 28-year-old admits that she does think about having children from time to time. She got to try on the role of being a mother of two in her most recent film Brothers - starring alongside Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal - and said she felt right at home. A sign of things to come, perhaps?

Star light, star bright

November 27th 2009 19:48
We Aussies have had our eye on the beautiful and oh-so-talented Abbie Cornish for some time, but now it finally looks as though Miss Cornish is set to make a real breakthrough in Hollywood. Her newest film Bright Star - in which she plays Fanny Brawne, the love interest and eventual muse of the great poet John Keats - has critics enthralled, with some tipping the 27-year-old for an Oscar nomination and others calling her 'the next Cate Blanchett'. But in typical Abbie fashion, she downplays her talent and instead calls on the old-world charm of the film's subject matter and script.
