Britney Spearz "Wicked" in L.A.

Britney Spears
The lights are on but nobody's home...
Apparantly Britney Spears decided to check out some "theahtah dahling" last week and toddled downtown in L.A. to see that city's incarnation of the mega-smash Broadway musical Wicked.

It's coming to Melbourne mid-2008! Remember?
Well anyway, apparantly the multi-million dollar production with its huge, ornamental set, dazzling effects and collosal cast didn't do it for Brit. She walked out half way through the first act!
Clearly someone never told La Spearz that you wait until intermission and then you leg it! At least that way she would have seen the showstopping Act One closer "Defying Gravity"!
Our guess is that she saw Broadway star and brilliant belter Eden Espinosa (currenltly playing the lead role of Elphaba in the L.A. production) sing the collossal, energetic showstopper (there's quite a few of them in Wicked!)"The Wizard and I" and suddenly realised she wasn't feeling well...
Funny that!!! But, oh yeah, Eden can actually SING!!!!!
Go and see Wicked in Melbourne 2008! The rumour mill is running overtime in Oz - that's the real Oz mind you! Apparantly producers are in talks to get the Tony winning original Elphaba star Idina Menzel onto the stage of the Regent Theatre in Melbourne!

Also we hear that Aussie actress-singer Helen Dallimore (who recently opened Wicked in London as second femle lead Glinda the Good witch!) may be coming back home to reprise HER role as well!
More spicy details? You betcha!
Helen's sis' and fellow musical theatre star Chloe Dallimore is also up for the role!
Our choice would actually be Tamsin Carroll - of Dusty the Musical fame... but there are months and months for such gossip to spread!
Just so long as the producers get it! We want stars (lots of em!) and we want TALENT!!! And heavy on the last part!!!
Helen Dallimore
"Y'all do know I've played Glinda before right?"
Chloe Dallimore
"hello sis? Yeah, I'm a bigger theatre star in Oz!!"
Tamsin Carroll as Dusty Springfield
"Yes but girls don't forget, I can play Dusty, I can play ANYONE!"
