The star of this year's Julie and Julia is pregnant! It's a little sooner than what Amy Adams had planned, but according to reports she and her fiance Darren Legallo are thrilled with the news. The 35-year-old actress recently told journalists that she wanted a family but would be keeping it small: "I probably won't have a big family. I can barely manage my own life! But I do want to have a family."
Amy's stock in Hollywood has been on the rise over the last few years, with starring roles in critically acclaimed films such as Junebug and Doubt, both of which scored her nominations for prestigious awards, and commercial successes like Enchanted, a role in which Adams was able to show off her singing voice.
As for her personal life, Amy and her fiance have been engaged for more than a year but are yet to set a wedding date, due to the actress's work commitments. She recently said, "I've been really busy, and I feel like a horrible fiancee that I haven't gotten swept up in the whole idea of a wedding. He wants to be married. He understands I'm busy but he's ready. He's much more ready for kids and stuff than I am."
With her baby due in the second half of next year it's expected that Adams will take some time off work to play Mum. Luckily her newest movies, Leap Year and The Fighter, have already been filmed and are also scheduled for a 2010 release, which means that Adams can start her family without dropping off the Hollywood radar. She might even find the time to get married!
